Rochdale is a large town in Greater Manchester, at the foothills of the South Pennines. With well over 7,500 micro enterprises and nearly 800 small and medium-sized businesses in the borough, Rochdale provides a base for investment and growth. Boasting a core of established national and international companies, many of which have relocated to one of the borough’s high-performing business parks, the town welcomes ambitious start-ups and large multinationals. The Rochdale economy is largely centred around manufacturing, distribution, logistics and, more recently, digital services. Rochdale has long been a nationally important centre for logistics, with one in five supply chain businesses within Greater Manchester operating from within the borough. Meanwhile, over 75,000 people are employed in manufacturing, being home to several large companies, including McBride, Crown Oil, and Nobilia. In more recent years, the economy has further diversified with the growth of the digital and creative sector. Rochdale now hosts a range of internet service providers, online retailers, web builders and graphic design businesses, offering them everything they need to succeed.
