Our client is seeking an experienced Workshop Controller with an automotive background (preferably with previous HGV Technician experience too) to run their maintenance, service and repair automotive workshop in Sheffield. You need to know your way around heavy vehicles (7.5T and up) to service, maintain and repair them, and to fit new equipment to them.

* Supervising and motivating our team of Fitters and Service Technicians and proactively reviewing daily workload to seek opportunities that will help drive performance
* Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction by implementing quality checks, resolving any issues, and re-assuring customers by providing all necessary information and advice
* Supervises the daily time keeping of technicians and managing authorised absence to ensure a consistent level of attendance
* Maintaining relationships with suppliers and product design teams and providing technical information for Technicians during day-to-day operations
* Complying with Health & Safety regulations and ensuring high standards of housekeeping and security are achieved and maintained within the workshop and surrounding areas

* Prior experience as a Workshop Controller / Workshop Foreman / HGV Technician / Workshop Supervisor in a similar automotive environment
* Ability to work calmly under pressure and manage a workshop
* Well-developed management and leadership skills
* A working knowledge of automotive technology and warranty systems would be beneficial
* A full, valid and clean UK driving license
* Computer literate including Microsoft Office
