Want to work on next generation vehicles?
We are currently seeking a Service Engineer to undertake breakdown and service work on HGVs and Buses which have been converted to Electric Drive.
The role is a UK wide position but typically doesn’t require more than 1-2 nights out per week. When not on service the Engineer will work in the company facilities in Rotherham on R&D and assist with vehicle conversion. The role requires a multi-skilled individual who also understands how vehicle systems communicate with each other so experience of vehicles with multiple system ECUs and software is important. Product training will be given to the successful candidate. This role could suit an individual with experience of working for the AA or other breakdown organisations as well as HGV Technicians and main dealer technicians. Applications from Ex-forces personnel, particularly REME are welcome.

CANBUS/Telematics/Mechanical/Electrical/HGV/PSV/Mechanic/Software/Service Engineer/Vehicle Technician

Duties:
1.Conduct an assessment of requirements following a callout i.e. tools, test equipment and spares.

2.Working off site, conduct a modified Risk Assessment as required.

3.Liaise with the customer/operator before starting and after finishing the task.

4.Diagnose/fault find OEM equipment failure as fitted to the customers equipment.

5.Repair or replace faulty wiring/systems as required (contract dependant).

6.Following repair complete an onsite hard copy job report one copy for the customer, one for admin and one for the TSM.

7.Faulty systems must be returned to Factory for further investigation and repair in accordance with the Returns Merchandise Authorisation process.

Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of Vehicle drivetrain and associated components
Knowledge of air-brakes/steering and hydraulic systems
Bench fitting skills
Good understanding of vehicle wiring systems
Fault finding on low voltage electrical systems
Understanding of vehicle CAN systems and CAN diagnostics
Excellent problem solving skills
Able to produce accurate reports of faults and corrective actions
Safety conscious
Great customer skills
