Futures are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer for a well-established manufacturing business in South Yorkshire. Working for a successful and expanding market leader you will provide expertise in the design and implementation of a proprietary traction motor to support members of the design and production teams. It Is essential you have designed traction motors or closely related motor products and have an understanding of rotating/dynamic equipment design. Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer – Role and Responsibilities – AutoCAD / Electro-Mechanical Design / SolidWorks
* Design of close tolerance machined components, castings and moulded parts, pressed metal components, shaft, bearing/seal design and component selection
* Build and manage complex 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings
* Undertaking design analysis including lifetime and strength calculations on rotating parts and structures
* Creating design layouts and schematics for design solutions
* Accountability for cradle to grave ownership of a product or design
Mechanical Design Engineer – Skills and Abilities – AutoCAD / Mechanical Design / SolidWorks
* A minimum of 3 years post-study experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
* A relevant qualification in a Mechanical Engineering discipline
* At least 3 years of experience designing traction motors or closely related motor products
* Excellent understanding of design for Manufacture, machining tolerances, GD&T
