About the role

Our client, a fast paced R&D business with extensive manufacturing capability, seeks to appoint a Test Technician. You will provide technician support for the design and operational teams, tackling a variety of tasks under engineer supervision. You will have a technological qualification, experience of building, testing and debugging electronic and mechanical systems, excellent written communication skills to produce documentation and a “go the extra mile” attitude to proactively support the design engineering team. You’ll be joining a long established business recognised as a best-in-class manufacturer in their particular niche with an excellent track record of training and developing their own people, including lots of internal promotion opportunities as the company continues to expand.

Test Technician – Role and Responsibilities – Electronics / Hardware / Mechanical / BOM / Test Engineer / Design / Electrical & Electronic / Testing

* Produce and maintain technically accurate and illustrative (3D) Test Procedures
* Create and maintain test equipment BOMs, schematics, technical drawings
* Produce Risk Assessments, maintenance/calibration plans and trouble shoot guides
* Assemble products to specification and then test and debug them
* Provide technical support to Production, Quality & Engineering teams
* Involvement with report / data generation process for R&D and manufacturing

Test Technician – Skills and Abilities – Electronics / Hardware / Mechanical / BOM / Test Engineer / Design / Electrical & Electronic / Testing

* HNC or equivalent in an engineering or technology based subject (electrical & electronic engineering or equivalent preferred)
* Competent in building, testing, debugging and working with analogue and digital electronics
* Experience of building, testing and working with electrical and mechanical assemblies
* Ability to understand electronic circuit schematics and the basic function of standard components
* Ability to produce documentation of test hardware, software and processes
* Excellent computer literacy, particularly with MS Office apps Excel, Word and Outlook
