About the role

Our client, a rapidly growing manufacturer in South Yorkshire, seek to appoint a Supplier Development engineer to drive improvements throughout the supply chain, through auditing, continuous improvement activities, and identifying and visiting high impact suppliers and support the PPAP in order to guarantee successful launch into production. The company are looking for a supplier development engineer to be out on the road visiting suppliers to maintain and grow relationships and to mitigate any issues within the supply chain. For this role, our client are looking for a candidate with experience in a supplier facing role in a buying/procurement or quality function.

Supplier Development Engineer – Role & Responsibilities – Quality engineer / supplier audit / supply chain / supplier performance / lean manufacturing

*Travel across the UK to visit suppliers and develop and maintain supplier relations
*Conducting supplier performance reviews and audits
*Relocating the supply of parts from one supplier to the next
*Mitigate all supplier quality related issues

Supplier Development Engineer – Skills & Abilities – Supplier quality / supply chain / quality engineer / buying/ lean manufacturing / Audits

*Minimum three years experience in a quality or buying, supplier facing role
*Willingness to travel across the UK to meet with suppliers
*Personable and flexible approach to supplier development
*Ability to solve supply issues across the board
*A relevant engineering qualification would be advantageous
