SEN Case Officer
Overview
Special Educational Needs case officer required for a Local Authority, reporting to the SEN Manager.
This role will require completing EHCP assessments and reviews, including writing and amending plans, and monitoring pupils with special educational needs. You will support the SEN team to ensure the local authority meet all legal requirements and complete statutory processes within the set timeframes.
Experience
For this role you need;
Comprehensive knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice 2015.
Extensive knowledge of the assessment process for children with special educational needs.
Proven record of managing caseloads of children and young people with Education Health and Care Plans.
Understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014 and Education Act 1996.
Ability to consistently meet statutory 20 week deadlines.
Knowledge of current issues in the education and childrens services.
Ability to maintain successful relationships with a range of stakeholders, including schools, families, health and social care teams.
Demonstrated knowledge of the concepts and implications of special education needs.
Act as the main point of contact for the parents or carers of young people with EHCPs
In return, you will be paid up to £300 per day and the opportunity to work with a local authority making a real difference to children with special educational needs.
