My client is a global leader in food flavours and ingredients, with a network of sites across Europe, APAC, Africa & Americas, offering a dynamic multinational company environment.
Due to growth, they are looking for a Sales Product Manager to maintain and grow the business, ensuring double-digit growth rates, as well as taking on responsibility as the Product Manager for the assigned product portfolio.
Main Sales Responsibilities…
– Build and maintain profitable business relationships with existing and new clients in Switzerland.
– Conduct regular client visits to strengthen client relationships/intimacy and initiate new projects.
– Proactive sales approach and cold calling of new clients and business opportunities
– Ensure a healthy project pipeline and proper documentation in the CRM (Salesforce)
– Take responsibility for pricing to the customer
– Establish an annual budget in alignment with the European business unit and the local site.
– Support the product manager in setting the annual sales and marketing strategy.
– Implement sales and marketing strategy for assigned product segments (LOB)
– Acquire product know-how for the assigned portfolio in order to support the client with technical challenges
– Participate in trade shows and product training
– Provide technical support to colleagues as required
– Ensure close collaboration with the local product manager and technical team
– Continuously monitor the market for new trends, new potentials and growth opportunities
Main Product Management Responsibilities…
– Establish and maintain profitable business relationships with assigned suppliers
– Initiate and actively participate in strategic customer and supplier meetings, business review meetings, trade fairs and workshops and prepare business reports.
– Participate in pan-European meetings to share product innovations, growth ideas, campaigns, etc.
– Develop sales and marketing strategy for assigned supplier and portfolio. Follow up on sales activities and ensure appropriate implementation of the strategy.
– Analyse and monitor supplier business performance and identify gaps against sales and margin budget.
– Build a strong network within the group with relevant contacts (e.g. other product managers, technical team).
– Gather market intelligence and continuously analyse the market and competitive landscape.
– Train and support sales colleagues for the assigned product portfolio.
– Prepare and execute online/offline campaigns for relevant business units. Work closely with the technical team to ensure on-time product campaigns at the client’s site.
– Set market-oriented pricing and sales conditions for customers in the assigned sales territory. Enforce price increases.
The successful Sales Product Manager will…
– Have a ‘hunter’ mentality and willingness to grow the business and achieve challenging growth rates
– Be willing to travel within Switzerland for 2-4 days per week
– Degree in food science/technology
– Be fluent in German
