About the role


Our client, a refurb and engineering services business to the heavy engineering industry, seek to appoint a Sales Manager to work the M62 corridor. You will be financially motivated and hungry to find new work and be paid bonus for bringing it in! Reporting directly to the board the appointed Sales Manager will focus is on winning new accounts so the business continues to expand. This role is focused on new business for the majority of the time alongside some limited account management. You will need to have a proven sales background with some demonstrable new business success (we are looking for someone with a reasonable knowledge of heavy engineering requirements in the North of England: you will already know of the companies you need to sell to) within core markets (heavy industry, nuclear, steel, heavy machining and machine shops, etc.) with a get-up-and-go mentality.

– Promote and sell the full company product offering
– Grow new accounts from personal sales activity
– Arrange and attend client sales meetings for new business
– Market Mapping and active targeting of new accounts

Sales Manager – Skills and Abilities – Sales Executive, Business Development Manager, BDM, Heavy Industry, New Business, Steel, Nuclear, Machining

– An understanding of heavy engineering (ideally an engineer by trade, but that isn’t essential)
– Proven track record in a sales environment, with demonstrable achievements: they want you to land new accounts, and want to see where you have done that in the past
– Some experience selling services rather than a physical product (refurb, retrofitting, repair services, maintenance contracts)
– Confident working in an autonomous role (you’ll get supported but will be relied on to be the self-starter the team needs)
