About the role


Futures are working hand in hand with a leading Power Engineering Company based in Leeds and are looking to appoint an experienced Purchasing Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Manager from an Engineering/ Power distribution environment.

The Role:
This is a hands-on role with overall responsibility for all purchasing activities, projects, processes and team members.
Strive to deliver OTIF and continual improvement
Ensure effective management, control and development of the supply chain, procurement and delivery of materials and services.
Maintain and develop associated I.T. systems
Identify suppliers, negotiate pricing, discount structures and terms.
Provide reports and statistics working to agreed KPIS and objectives
Foster strong working relationships with both external suppliers and internal departments.
Manage team members and foster employee engagement
Manage, maintain and track accurate stock records, monitor stock levels and conduct stock-taking activities

Skills and Experience:

This opportunity would best suit a passionate and engaging purchasing manager who has a strong desire to get stuck in.
Proven track record in a similar role, essential
Excellent negotiation and relationship building skills, essential
Demonstrable man-management and team building skills, essential
Conducting employee reviews and meetings, essential
Worked in a manufacturing, engineering or electrical environment
Experience of technical and/or practical knowledge specifically related to transformers and switchgear.
Obtained a relevant purchasing qualification.
Strong attention to detail, essential
Excellent I.T. skills in particular Excel and ideally experienced using Progress software
Strong communication skills; applicants must be able to demonstrate a good command of English both written and verbal
Process and continual improvement driven
Hold a full driving licence
Ideally hold a FLT licence
