Our client, a manufacturer and servicer of mechanical engineering equipment with a variety of uses, seek to appoint a Planning Engineer to work with sales and technical teams to create detailed project and resource plans at individual department level to feed into the overall capacity plan and ensure on time delivery of projects. As Planning Engineer you will need to have an apprentice trained machining background, the ability to read CAD drawings, experience of route cards and scheduling, the ability to liaise with suppliers and customers, and a desire to get things right the first time to ensure production orders are fulfilled on time and in full.
Planning Engineer – Role and Responsibilities – Production Engineer, Route Cards, Manual Machining
* Work with the sales and technical teams to update production plans for each department
* Create route cards and resource plans for Project management and engineering departments
* Create and updating of production routings and provide suitable production plans to enable all products manufactured in-house to be delivered on time
* To support the daily production meetings and to provide solutions when plans fall behind to deliver on time
* Work proactively to control costs and further to achieve cost savings in all areas of production
* Set suitable KPIs to allow you to track performance including on time delivery and on budget
* Responsible for controlling the production orders in SAP, including creation, dating and subsequent maintenance

* Computerised planning system
* Very structured and organised in approach.
* Apprentice trained Machinist with knowledge of manual machine tools and the ability to work from engineering drawings.
