About the role

Our client are looking to appoint a Production Engineer to work in their rail division in South Yorkshire. In this Production Engineer role you will provide engineering support to the manufacturing facility and to end user clients who purchase equipment. There’ll be some CAD work, some manufacturing/ installation support, and some technical guidance. A background in the rail industry is a necessity.

Production Engineer – Role and Responsibilities – Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Rolling Stock, Rail

* Plan and co-ordinate duties aligned with the NPI strategy and business milestones
* Work with the team to ensure that existing methods of manufacture are effective
* Evaluate and analyse product designs to formulate the most efficient assembly processes
* Work closely with design on any engineering changes, reviewing BOM and documenting changes
* Create picklist/build cards and update databases as appropriate
* Ensure staff cross functional alignment to manage new / changed product into production

* Experience working within the rail industry
* Able to interpret designs/drawings
* Computer literate / ideally able to use SAP and Excel
