About the role


Our client, a leading manufacturer of special purpose machinery for food processing seeks to appoint two production engineer. The first production engineer must have strong knowledge of 5-axis machinery, programs and machining methods. The second production engineer need to have good all round knowledge of CNC machinery and producing machine tool programs.

Roles and Responsibilities Production Engineer CNC Programs Siemens NX MAZAK Heidenhain

To provide machine tool programs, tool lists and fixtures as required by the manufacturing schedule.
To provide support and expertise in CNC machining methods, machine tool programs, particularly 5-axis, tooling and work holding.
To produce accurate Methods of Manufacture for machined components.
To promote a continuous improvement culture.
To identify improvements in manufacturing processes and procedures.
To drive through cost reduction initiatives, including design for manufacture.
To help maintain manufacturing schedules with reference to business requirements.
To solve problems and improve processes and methods within manufacturing teams.
To provide support for technical queries for all areas of the business.
To interface between technical and shop floor personnel.
To undertake specific projects as and when required.
To support the Production Engineering Manager as and when required.
To be aware of and follow all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Skills and Attributes – Production Engineer CNC Programs Siemens NX MAZAK Heidenhain

Qualified engineer to ONC/HNC level in Mechanical/ Production Engineering preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Have a solid understanding of manufacturing process.
A broad knowledge of machined components.
Experience of machine tool programming, including 5-axis.
Experience of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
Familiarity with writing specifications, procedures and instructions.
A good team player with excellent communication skills.
Flexible and able to work on own initiative.
A methodical approach to tasks.
Strong IT skills.
A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.
