Monday to Thursday | 6pm – 6am | 4 DAY WORKING WEEK NIGHT SHIFT

Futures have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Area Manager on behalf of a leading, global, billion £ food manufacturer that is well-known in the market for their great tasting products!

You will lead a highly experienced and skilled manufacturing team to deliver sustainable processes resulting in the quality product being manufactured safely at the lowest cost.

You will be fully responsible for the department when on shift and will be responsible for key business decisions concerning the management of personnel, production and its quality, cost control, safety and service in the absence of direct line management being present.

The capability to understand and work across departments and shift patterns is essential as rotation will be a requirement of the role.

Key Duties:
– Line Management of the 4 Team Leaders and over 30 Operators in the area of responsibility.
– Working alongside the Planning department to sign off daily plans.
– Responsible for all aspects of training and developing teams including devising skills matrices, implementation of SOPs, identifying skills gaps, developing training plans, maintenance of core training, consistent delivery of Shop floor training, maintenance of training records and involvement in specific role-related training
– Responsible for recruitment, staff movements and succession planning.
– Responsible for creating a positive culture to foster good morale and good working conditions for staff. Utilising established tools and mechanisms e.g. Staff Surveys, Morale Indicators & TCT.

Key Skills and Experience:
– Experience within food manufacturing at a Supervisor/Team Leader level
– Line management experience to include performance management & development
– Computer literate and competent in the use of Microsoft applications.
– A passion for motivating, coaching and developing a team
– Food Safety Level 3 minimum -desired
– IOSH Managing Safely – desired
