Reporting into the Engineering Manager you will take responsibility for both proactive and reactive maintenance duties within this fast-paced production environment. As a key member of the Engineering team, you will share responsibility for achieving budgeted machine performance targets and ensuring the machines are kept running to peak performance within the manufacturing unit.
Your Duties:
– To complete planned electrical / mechanical maintenance, fault finding and breakdown repairs, installation and modification to plant and services.
– Maintain and repair plant and equipment to high Engineering, Quality, Safety and Hygiene standards
– Ensure all Engineering work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner, in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice, Health and Safety Legislation and current Company Standards
– Learn and understand the correct operation of each piece of equipment so as to know what effect there is on parameter changes and what can be achieved by the equipment
– Fault diagnose and complete breakdown repairs of process equipment, packaging equipment and site services
– Manage your workload and time plan seeking out improvements and running repairs
– Undertake training and up-skilling programmes as directed by business needs and to keep abreast of technological advancements and maintain skill level
– You will need to facilitate a speedy response to all plant stoppages and to help plan / implement modifications to new and existing equipment.
– Ensure an in depth-handover is provided to oncoming shift, to include Engineering, manufacturing & warehouse issues
– Undertake any other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of the role.
Successful Multi Skilled Engineer will be/have:
– Previous Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
– Time served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline, holding an Electrical Engineering HND / HNC / BTech / ONC / C and G Level 3 qualifications or higher
– Degree / HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (Desirable)
– Great communication Skills
