Manufacturing Futures are recruiting for a Metallurgist for our client, an established forging business based in South Yorkshire, who supply fully integrated metal services from forging through to fully tested and released machined products!

The successful Metallurgist will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and proactively advising on hot material conversions and the design of production routes.
You will be working across a number of sectors including aerospace, oil & gas and nuclear.
You will be responsible for metallurgical work on site and get involved with all quality aspects including internal audits, investigating non-conformances, root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions and liaising with customers.
You will have a recognised materials science / metallurgy qualification and ensure that standards are met and guarantee customer service levels are adhered to. You will generate material specifications, production routes, manage testing and be involved with various process improvement projects and cost saving methods. At least two years post qualification experience in Heat Treatment is required.
Your Skills and Experience:
• Minimum Degree qualified in Metallurgy or Materials Science or equivalent
• Previously held a Metallurgical position within a Forging or Manufacturing environment
• Previously worked with any type of metals including Steel, Nickel, Titanium and Aluminum
• Excellent understanding of metallurgy and material processing
• Understanding of Quality procedures and a good understanding of Inspection procedures and processes
• Team Player with good decision-making skills, excellent organisational skills and good IT skills
