We are recruiting for an experienced Metallurgist for our client, a long-established Forging business based in Sheffield! You’ll be joining a successful and profitable business with a full order book and a positive and welcoming culture.
To be successful you will need a strong understanding of quality and inspection procedures and processes. You will be responsible for metallurgical work on-site and get involved with all quality aspects including internal audits, investigating non-conformances, implementing corrective actions and liaising with customers.
You will generate material specifications, manage subcontract testing, and be involved with various process improvement projects and cost-saving methods, ensuring standards are met and customer service levels are adhered to.
At least two years of post-qualification experience in metal procedures, heat treatment and thermomechanical processes is required as well as experience of working with titanium, nickel and iron-based alloys.
Your Skills and Experiences:
– Educated to a degree level in Metallurgy, Materials Technology or similar.
– Previously held a Metallurgical position within a Forging / Manufacturing environment.
– Previously worked with titanium, aluminium, steel, nickel and iron-based alloys.
