About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity available for a leading manufacturer. Due to the continued growth and expansion of the company they are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to cover a panama shift. Reporting into the Engineering Manager you will take responsibility for both proactive and reactive maintenance duties within this fast-paced production environment. As a key member of the Engineering team, you will share responsibility for achieving budgeted machine performance targets and ensuring the machines are kept running to peak performance within the manufacturing unit.

Roles & Responsibilities Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Fitter / Automotive / Aerospace / Welding / Fault Finding

*To complete planned maintenance, fault finding and breakdown repairs, welding, installation and modification to plant and services
*Maintain and repair plant and equipment to high Engineering, Quality, Safety and Hygiene standards
*Ensure all Engineering work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner, in accordance with good manufacturing practice, health and safety legislation and current company standards
*Fault diagnose and complete breakdown repairs of process of packaging equipment and site services
*Manage your workload and time plan seeking out improvements and running repairs
*Undertake training and up-skilling programmes as directed by business needs and to keep abreast of technological advancements and maintain skill level
*You will need to facilitate a speedy response to all plant stoppages and to help plan / implement modifications to new and existing equipment.
*Undertake any other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of the role

Skills and Attributes Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Fitter / Automotive / Aerospace / Welding / Fault Finding

*Previous experience of working within a FMCG manufacturing environment
*Time served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline is desirable, holding an Mechanical Engineering HND / HNC / BTEC / ONC / C&G Level 3 qualification or higher
*Welding experience desirable
*Working towards PPMs
