Manufacturing Futures are working with a growing business in South Yorkshire who are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer. We are looking for an engineer who has recently completed a mechanical engineering qualification and has at least a year’s industry experience in a design focused role. We are looking for an engineer who has a good understanding of basic mechanical design principles, enjoys solving engineering problems and has the drive to develop their skill set with an innovative and forward thinking business. In this role you will be exposed to various stages of the product lifecycle from defining the specification with the customer, prototyping, manufacture and commissioning with the customer.
Mechanical Design Engineer – Role and Responsibilities
– Design of mechanical products as per the customer specification
– Development of new products
– Working closely with customers and their engineering departments to understand their requirements
– Producing drawings, specifications and technical reports which may include performance and failure investigation
Mechanical Design Engineer – Skills and Abilities
– A minimum of 12 months industry experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
– A relevant qualification in a Mechanical Engineering
– Excellent understanding of general mechanical design principles
