Materials Planner – Leicester – £27,000 – £29,000 – Sunday to Thursday 07:30 – 16:00

Futures have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Materials Planner to join a leading, global, billion £ food manufacturer that is well-known in the market for their great tasting products!

The company will invest in the development of this role, equipping you with the key skills for the present and ensuring you have a fulfilling, long-term career.

You will be responsible for:
– Ensuring materials are available to meet demand, through effective ordering and inventory control processes
– Liaising with a variety of internal and external parties, including suppliers and hauliers to ensure high levels of service are maintained both efficiently and cost-effectively
– NPD activity likely to affect future demand is to be reviewed weekly
– Maintenance and upkeep of static data in Excel stock boards and other systems used to schedule materials
– Identify and resolve day-to-day issues. Taking each case on its own merit, communicate and escalate effectively to both internal and external parties to ensure satisfactory conclusions
– Represent the department at internal and external meetings as required. Report to the team as necessary with key actions and updates. Feedback to meeting stakeholders with action updates as appropriate

Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required:
– Strong experience in planning and scheduling
– Good working knowledge of Excel and MS Office-based programmes
– Experience in food manufacture
– Highly organised and able to work autonomously
– Strong administration skills
– Ability to react and deal with short-notice situations
– Ability to prioritise and organise against specific timescales effectively even when under pressure
– Good communication skills (verbal, written and reporting)
– Problem-solving with external parties/cross-functional teams
– Remain calm under pressure and flexible
– Experience with SAP advantageous but not essential
– Good knowledge of materials
