We are looking for a proactive Master Production Scheduler to join a fast-paced manufacturing business on a very exciting growth journey based in Lancashire!

This is a new business-critical role reporting to the General Manager.
You will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of existing and future manufacturing schedules, delivering Logistics Management activities and ensuring customer programmes are met in a timely manner. This is a hands role in a very demanding environment, so it’s essential you can work with various stakeholders (internal and external) to successfully accomplish the tasks at hand.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
• Ensure the timely and cost-effective provisioning of parts from suppliers overseas (China, Europe) and UK suppliers and internal services.
• Proactively manage the production schedule to identify, anticipate and resolve bottlenecks, roadblocks or issues which could delay production – missing orders, products, manufacturing, delivery dates, etc… how can you catch up, or reallocate labour if something affects the plan?
• Define and control the detailed manufacturing plan such that inventory and work-in-progress are maintained at minimum levels consistent within a lean manufacturing facility, ensuring parts in stock/on-site meet demanding production schedules.
• Provide written and verbal information on the status of the plan and achievements to date, using management reporting techniques.
• Raise production orders/work orders for the factory on a day-to-day basis to ensure parts and labour are there for the fitting / assembly.
• Tactically manage collaborative and preferred suppliers of bought-out items, in order that material flows satisfy programme requirements whilst minimising stock levels.
• Strong financial reporting and management. Need to have a great grasp on financial reporting to ensure timely current and future invoicing – report up the chain on cash.
• Attend and contribute to review meetings i.e. Production, Forward Planning Sessions, Supplier Reviews, Cross Functional Sessions.
• Contribute to the implementation of proposed task directive changes, and new or amended orders, regarding their effect on inventory and programme.
Your Skills and Abilities:
• At least five years of experience in a Planning or Scheduling focused role
• Previous work history at a manufacturing company
• Ability to work with Excel whilst transitioning to a new MRP system
