Our client in Halifax, are looking for a multi-skilled maintenance engineer (electrical bias) to join their busy maintenance team. This position in on a 3 shift rota (6-2, 2-10,10-6), on a 2 week rotating pattern. If you ARE NOT happy to work shifts these shifts, please don’t apply. Role and responsibilities:
Maintain and operate plant and equipment, and perform associated duties following a safe system of work (as laid down in the Departmental Training Programme).
Respond appropriately to unexpected and/or continuing situations, which develop in the work environment.
Carry out repairs or planned maintenance to equipment and secure necessary materials and parts for the scheduled and unscheduled repairs.
Communicate and feedback with Maintenance management & Production departments to ensure prompt attention and resolution of conditions that impact the business.
Build and maintain history on equipment, assess breakdowns, prioritise and take appropriate corrective action. Provide technical assistance to ensure shortest possible machine downtime, recording and creating manuals & drawings for early machine recovery.
Identify faults and errors and using acquired knowledge in a logical manner.
Order required parts through Purchasing Buyer where necessary and follow up orders to ensure spare parts are fitted to the appropriate machine on delivery.
Process, review, and expedite work orders, modification and equipment drawings, schematics, check sheets, job instructions, and calibrations records.
Analyse downtime situations and develop and implement appropriate countermeasures to reduce and/or prevent future downtime and extend improvements to similar machines.
Advise on improvements which could be made to new machines during the design and manufacture at the suppliers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience and knowledge of Maintenance policies and procedures.
Electrical fault finding
Experience on automated equipment with PLC fault finding experience.
16th, 17th or 18th Edition IEE regs
City & Guilds , NVQ 3 or higher in Electrical
Experience of Total Planned Maintenance (TPM)
