About the role


We are seeking an established lecturer in Lighting Design & Technology to permanently join an innovative team in West Yorkshire!

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a can-do attitude and a highly creative approach to teaching entertainment technology and production!

Joining this rapidly expanding team, you would be expected to engage with enterprise activity, as well as develop your individual research. You will also be expected to contribute to engagement with schools, colleges and recruitment activities.

Your responsibilities will include:
– Design, delivery and teaching of classes, projects, and other learning activities within the framework of the courses.
– Supporting and guiding interdisciplinary collaboration between courses, including teaching on other courses as required
– Contributing to the annual review and quality assurance processes of the courses and activities in the Academy
– Engagement with the enhancement and development of Lighting Design & Technology pedagogy in relation to the aims of the institution and the course and in line with a range of professional practices

Your knowledge, skills, and experience:
– A primary specialism and demonstrable experience in either lighting design, lighting programming, or lighting technology and control systems.
– A secondary specialism and demonstrable experience in either live sound, staging & rigging for Live Events, or networking and control systems for Live events.
– Extensive professional experience in Lighting Design & Technology for Live Events.
– Post Graduate Teaching qualification or HEA fellowship or a willingness to undertake such a qualification within two years.
– Familiarity with contemporary Live Event performance and production and their cultural, social and industry contexts.
– Recent experience working in a technical or design role in the Live Events or Broadcast Industries.
