About the role


Lab Technician

We are actively supporting a reputable FMCG manufacturing business who are looking to recruit an experienced Lab Technician to join the team throughout an excited phase of growth!

You will join an established Quality team within a growing, but very reputable organization.
You will be looking to secure a role within the food and drink industry, more specifically in the brewing industry.

The successful Graduate Lab Technician will ensure that all beer is produced to the highest of standards through microbiological and Phys chem analysis.

The Lab Technician will also be responsible for maintaining the stock levels of the lab and general updating of admin documentation.

General duties of the Lab Technician include:

High levels of lab practice
Management of samples
Yeast health management
Cleaning and decontamination of the lab
Project support
Maintenance of QC data and SOP documentation
Manage Lab stock
Data reporting trend analysis

To be successful our client are looking for the following:

Bachelors degree in Microbiology, Biology or another relevant field.
Experience in both physical-chemical and microbiological techniques (cultural and molecular).
Demonstrate an understanding of the beer production process and key physical-chemical characteristics involved.
Demonstrate an understanding of the microbiology of food and beverage organisms, especially yeast.
Evidence of effective communication within and between teams.
Able to work efficiently and with incredible attention to detail.
Ability to think and operate with initiative and troubleshoot wherever necessary.
Flexible and quick to learn.
