About the role


We’re seeking an ICT Oracle Applications Lead to work on a 2 year fixed term contract based in Warwickshire.

JOB PURPOSE:

To stabilise and rationalise legacy Oracle applications. and assist in migrating those required to Microsoft/Windows-based solutions

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To establish a road map for the long-term treatment of all legacy Oracle applications, including recommended priorities
2. To ensure that the input of staff and officers using the applications and services (as gathered by business partners) are factored into proposed treatments
3. To build and maintain relationships with the strategic service partner and other suppliers (including police forces with whom we collaborate) with a stake in our Oracle solutions
4. To collaborate with suppliers/partners to design and deliver solutions that fit with our technology stack, represent value for money, and have sustainable longevity
5. To support continuing Oracle applications, ensuring they are stable and available
6. To provide technical expertise in the event of an outage impacting any wellused Oracle application, liaising with ICT managers and suppliers through to resolution
7. To provide leadership regarding any interfaces between well-used Oracle applications and other solutions used within the force
8. To ensure that the continuity/recovery arrangements for any well-used Oracle applications are agreed with relevant officers in staff, in place, and tested regularly
9. To contribute to the effective service management of related suppliers, working closely with the ICT Operational Services Manager and other colleagues
10. To ensure that architecture and technical support documents are developed and maintained to enable both improvements/replacements and effective support in the interim
11. To oversee the safe regular upgrade of any well-used Oracle application during the rest of its life
12. To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Knowledge:
Bachelors degree in an ICT subject or equivalent work experience
Professional qualifications in Oracle application development/support

Experience:
Experience analysing the solutions landscape and proposing treatments
Experience working with partners/suppliers to design and deliver solution replacements Experience managing outages to important ICT systems
Experience managing applications in conjunction with suppliers/partners
Experience ensuring required interfaces between systems are efficient and supportable Experience establishing and testing ICT continuity and recovery arrangements
Experience overseeing upgrades to applications
