About the role


Futures Manufacturing Team are looking to appoint an experienced HGV Technician with a leading manufacturer in Doncaster

This is a full time permanent position working a 6am – 2pm shift pattern

Job Purpose:
Direct operations within the maintenance area, making sure they meet DVSA standards and adhere to Transport Rules and Regulations. Carry out repairs to vehicles and trailers in an efficient manner ensuring they are road worthy.

HGV/Fitter/Plant/Service/Technician/vehicle/Recovery/Electric/mechanical/electrical/

Diagnose faults and take necessary action to ensure the fault is rectified.
Comply with requirements set out in the company defect procedure.
Repair vehicles/trailer using appropriate equipment and tools in a safe and economical manner.
Maintain current knowledge and attend training courses as required.
Inspect and maintain all vehicle accessories such as but not restricted to ladders and fall restraint systems.
Keep inventory of parts and order from external suppliers in accordance with the company financial procedures.

Ensure good housekeeping in and around maintenance area.
Liaise with the compliance team and the subcontracted technicians.
Build and maintain a comprehensive fleet inventory.
Manage offsite repairs to trailers with the relevant maintenance providers.
Organise trailer disposals.
Record and report time spent on repairs

Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience and Skills (Competencies)
In depth knowledge and experience of repair work and maintenance on Heavy Goods Vehicles and trailers.
Heavy Goods licence essential.
Ability to actively seek solutions to problems.
Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks.
Self-motivated and capable of planning own work schedule.
Ability to make decisions on own initiative.
Planning and organising, as required, to fulfil your duties.
To have capability in managing the full range of responsibilities with high quality.
