About the role


Futures have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Technician to join a leading, global, billion £ food manufacturer who are well-known in the market for their great tasting products!

This business will invest in the development of this Health & Safety Technician role, equipping you with the key skills for the present and ensuring you have a fulfilling, long-term career. Alongside this, over 50% of the site’s staff have worked within the business for over five years. This business honours their long serving staff working for the company for more than ten years, and this elite group represents almost a third of the workforce.

You will be responsible for:
• Developing and implementing the site environmental strategy, compliance processes and procedures
• Leading on key projects including a new plant installation, as well as projects focusing on carbon use, reducing food waste, energy and water
• Facilitate the development and work with Key Internal and External Stakeholders to continue to drive key outputs to support certification to ISO 14001
• Work with the Site SHE Manager to facilitate the development of a positive Environmental culture through Environmental education, training and coaching to change environmental behaviours and improve performance
• Provide insight to drive environmental performance improvement through the Carbon Desktop and Waste and Effluent Management targets
• Identify performance improvement opportunities for the SHE Manager / Site Management teams to deliver upon projects in order to achieve targets and improve risk rating/cost efficiency
• Deliver environmental reporting information and provide insight and recommendations to allow management teams to make informed decisions and prioritise actions

Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required:
• Previous experience as an Environmental Coordinator, ideally gained within a FMCG/manufacturing environment but not essential
• Experience working with partnerships
• Experience in giving presentations and/or facilitating workshops
• Experience in report writing
• Up-to-date knowledge of Environmental legislation
