Head Of Technical
Recruiting for an established, but growing poultry food manufacturer, Food & Drink Futures are supporting them with some recruitment within their technical operations.
For one of their super exciting, lucrative sites, we are supporting them with the recruitment of a Head of Technical/Site Technical Lead.
As part of the sites senior management team, the Head Of Technical is tasked with leading the sites technical and quality teams ensuring all products leave the site to customer specifications, and advise the operations on areas of food legislation, and Health and Safety.
Key Responsibilities for the Head of Technical Include
Management of the improvement of the food safety system on site.
Implementation of improvement procedures.
Minimise the budgetary spend on cleaning processes whilst maintaining standards.
Management of the hygiene standards processes for the site, liaising with internal and external bodies in order to increase awareness.
Management of all external and customer audits (including BRC systems and processes). Ensure all departments are compliant and that scores are maintained year on year in line with business performance.
Maintain the annual budget and reduce expenditure whilst maintaining standards, where possible.
As part of the sites senior management team, the successful candidate will be able to show various success leadership traits (such as leading from the front), have strong communication skills with internal and external clients, and become a champion for continuous improvement on site. Experience of working with/ for multinational retailers is a must.
Ideally educated to degree standard (in food science or similar), and have previous poultry experience. the successful candidate will also have qualified or certified in industry recognised training for safety standard, quality and hygiene. This role would suit an experienced Head of Technical/Technical Manager from a food manufacturing background.
The successful candidate will also have a proven track record in managing audits, understanding and implementing legislation and project management skills.
The role is a Monday to Friday position (days), managing operational teams over a variety of shift patterns.Apply now
