Our client, a service company to manufacturing and distribution businesses throughout the North of England, seek to appoint a Head of Sales. Reporting directly to the board the appointed Head of Sales will take direct ownership of the internal sales team who service existing accounts whilst ensuring their primary focus is on winning new accounts so the business continues to expand. You will need to have a proven sales background with demonstrable success (we are looking for someone with a little black book of contacts already: you will already know the companies you need to sell to and the people within those companies you’ll need to target) within core markets (manufacturing, distribution, HVAC).

– Manage a team of internal and external sales managers
– Promote and sell the full company product range
– Manage and grow existing business through personal activity and co-ordinating day-to-day and week-to-week for your team
– Arrange and attend client sales meetings
– Market Mapping and active targeting of new accounts

– HNC qualified (or above) in a Construction / Engineering discipline preferred but not essential
– Proven track record in a sales role, with demonstrable achievements: they want you to land big accounts, and want to see where you have done that in the past
– Extensive experience selling to manufacturing, distribution and HVAc focused companies
– Confident working in an autonomous role (you’ll get supported but will be relied on to be the self-starter the team needs) to manage the day-to-day operations of the team whilst also delivering new sales
