About the role

A superb opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Shift Manager join a leading and expanding food manufacturing organisation in the Humberside region.

If you have a business management degree, currently looking for a trainee management role that offers tonnes of training and development from day one, then this could be the role for you!

Alternatively if you have a food related degree looking to break into the industry then this could be your opportunity! I’m looking for a dynamic, energetic, degree calibre candidate who is highly motivated and looking to progress their career within a manufacturing setting.

The candidate will ideally have manufacturing experience and have the passion to progress into a senior management role with a forward thinking company.

Our client is a food manufacturer in the Humberside region are currently looking for additional Shift Managers to allow for increased, high volume production. This is a days based role working Monday to Friday.

Supplying a range of clients, from big-4 multiples to smaller independent retail outlets and foodservice companies, production has to be at a pace to satisfy an expanding order book whilst still maintaining the quality and standards clients have come to expect.

If you’re an easily motivated person with a passion for food, ambitious and ideally graduate calibre this could be the ideal career move for you. Due to the size and scope of the role, and the large workforce under management, applications are encouraged from existing Shift Supervisors/Production Supervisors or existing Shift Managers/Productions Managers.

The successful Shift Manager will work closely with the shift manager, providing high levels of support. You will lead the team to ensure that the daily production plan in functioning effectively in the most effective and compliant manner. You will meet KPIs HACCAP, GMP, Allergen control and good food hygiene.

You will have previous experience, and be able to demonstrate your ability to lead a team through certain changes. The site is going through heavy change due to high levels of investment in the site, not only equipment, but staff too!

Shift Manager Responsibilities

-High quality management, ensuring high levels of productivity throughout the team
-Coaching/development of a multi-disciplined team
-Cover holidays of the shift Manager/Operations Manager in their absence
-Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing procedures
-Production, planning and stock control
-Delegating of tasks to the team to ensure production plan is achieved
-Monitor staff performance, absence management and holidays
-Carry out performance related reviews
-Coaching and developing of Supervisors and line leaders
-Identify areas for improvement
-Ensure productivity and KPIs are achieved

The successful Shift Manager will:

-Ideally have a degree in Business Management/or food related
-Previous Food manufacturing experience
-Excellent communication skills
-Project management skills
-Strong problem solver
-Ability to work to deadlines
