About the role

Our client, a growing manufacturer who service, repair and overhaul mechanical and electrical equipment, is looking to recruit a role in their South Yorkshire site as a Gearbox Assembly Fitter. With well equipped service capability they are able to supply specific high quality services to clients in automotive and other transport industries.

Gearbox Assembly Fitter – The Role – Automotive / Precision Engineering / Gears / Rotating Equipment

The Gearbox Assembly Fitter requires applicants who are able to manage their own workload in a small highly trained team of mechanical engineers in a hands-on Fitter and supervisory role. Working on the shop floor with the team in the workshop stripping, overhauling and repairing industrial gearboxes and rotational equipment. Working with the team to develop strong health and safety as well as quality standards. This is a hands-on role and requires engineers/fitters with a depth of knowledge of Industrial Gearboxes and rotational equipment. The role will either evolve into a Supervisor or will be recruited straight off as one.

Gearbox Assembly Fitter – The Person – Automotive / Precision Engineering / Gears / Rotating Equipment

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a strong industrial mechanical gearbox, pump or rotational equipment experience within engineering with a strong hands-on working knowledge of industrial engineering principles and equipment such as gearboxes, motors and transmission equipment.
