Are you a Building Services Engineer or a Facilities Coordinator or Manager with a technical background? Do you have an electrical apprenticeship / qualification but can turn your hands to most things required to maintain a building and its facilities? Any production engineering type experience would be useful too
Due to a large growth in production our client, a manufacturing business with an established machinery maintenance team, seek to appoint a Facilities Engineer to manage the maintenance (two thirds electrical, one third “everything else!”) of their buildings and facilities. Working alongside but separate from the machinery maintenance team you will look after lighting and controls, power and electrics, HVAC, and other building services related maintenance tasks. Whilst you’ll complete some tasks yourself largely the role is managing the sourcing of contractors, the permit to work ledger, and the engineers coming on site to carry out the work.
Our client is looking to appoint a Facilities Coordinator who will have a good knowledge of overall building services and have the ability to instruct contractors. As Facilities Coordinator you will need to communicate effectively and will need to be able to perform your own repairs (for the more basic jobs) and manage your own suppliers and subcontract providers (for the more complex jobs or specialist trades). This will range from mechanical, electrical engineers, window cleaner even dealing with utilities.
