Futures Manufacturing are looking to appoint an Engineering Stores Manager. Our client is a growing manufacturing business based in South Yorkshire looking to expand their team. The successful stores manager will be responsible for managing goods in/goods out, developing existing processes to improve function of the store room and take responsibility for general housekeeping amongst other duties.

Knowledge and Experience:
Purchasing experience is essential
Sound knowledge of good working practice relating to Health & Safety Regulations
Excellent I.T. skills with knowledge of stock systems
Excellent organisation skills
Good attention to detail
You will be a confident communicator both written and verbal, good at multitasking, and be comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Forklift truck licence is essential
You will be friendly, approachable and flexible
Experience managing a small team and delegating is essential.
Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role within an engineering/manufacturing environment is essential
Stock handling experience is essential

You will be required to take responsibility for supporting the development of the stores function and improving existing processes
Issue components/kits for works orders ensuring they are in the correct location
Conduct periodic stock taking activities
Provide assistance and support to purchasing dept. by placing orders when required and providing cover for holidays and absence
Manual handling of goods
Manage a small team of operatives and delegate work as and when needed.
Ability to manage and be hands on in both stores role and facilities.
Deal with stock requisitions from the shop floor and issue as appropriate Implement a more visual and standard system
