Our client, a manufacturer of electro-mechanical products, seek to appoint an Engineering Manager to lead their design team. As Design Manager you will manage a team of circa 6 design engineers (electrical, electronic, mechanical and software) on a variety of R&D projects. You will be capable of galvanising a team to ensure optimum performance, be extremely well organised and methodical. Engineering Manager – Role & Responsibilities – Engineering Manager / Design Engineer / Project Manager
* Oversee R&D focused design projects from cradle to grave: initial scope, feasibility study, design work, prototyping and test, production engineering, snagging, field support
* Driving force of projects: liaise with internal stakeholders to deliver on-time and on-budget
* Manage multi-disciplined project teams including mechanical, electrical, electronic and software design
* Handle customer and supplier queries
* Some travel required to customer sites as appropriate. Rare but occasionally required
Engineering Manager – Skills & Abilities – Engineering Manager / Design Engineer / Project Manager
* Good grounding in design engineering working for electro-mechanical manufacturing business
* HNC qualified as a minimum, degree preferred
* Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, electronic and software engineering
* Experience of managing multi-disciplined design teams on multiple R&D projects
* Previous experience of project management
