About the role


We are working with a Leeds-based Electronics Manufacturer to source an experienced and capable engineering manager with a specific focus on Software Engineering, Data Engineering and Python Development!

This is very much a “hands-on”, delivery-focused role – we need an expert in Python Development, someone who can deliver first-class data engineering solutions in both a hands-on and managerial capacity.

You will be working closely with electronics and embedded software engineering teams, supporting the development of new Condition Monitoring and Precision Measurement Sensors which are utilised in a variety of industries and assist with asset management, condition monitoring, maintenance management, remote diagnostics, business energy monitoring, and more.

Your Key Responsibilities:
– Ensuring processes are fit for purpose and being properly used.
– Continuous development and improvement of processes.
– Oversee the design of new products and plan the engineering resources required for new projects as required by the business.
– Developing the ability of the Engineering Leads to lead high-performing teams.
– Ensure that the Customer’s requirements are met and that the Engineers and Project Managers are supported.
– Direct engineering resources to produce new designs for a varied customer base.
– Commercial acumen facilitating involvement in bids and tenders. A key role in setting strategy for the company.

Your Key Requirements:
– Qualified to degree level in an Engineering related subject (computer science, software, electronic/electrical/systems engineering).
– Proven experience in managing a small team of engineers and data scientists.
– Detailed knowledge of data engineering and Python development.
– Additional skills in Java development, SQL, embedded software and electronics would be useful.
