About the role

Futures are looking to appoint in a permanent role an Engineering Manager who will be responsible for Managing a production facility, offices, Managing general upkeep, any repairs and all that this role encompasses.

Job Purpose:

Responsible for maintaining the factory, office buildings and services and all that this encompasses, managing general upkeep, repairs and refurbishment.

Co-ordinates the maintenance teams activities (2 3 engineers) including planned and reactive maintenance for the suite of CNC machines within our manufacturing cell (incorporating grinders, millers and turning machines).


Job Role:
Manage and co-ordinate the upkeep, maintenance and any planned refurbishment of the factory buildings, offices and external areas through an annual strategy.
Co-ordinate the activities of the maintenance team (and external service engineers) through work schedules and PPMs programmes for the suit of machines within the manufacturing cell, providing hands-on assistance when required.
Champion a speedy response, showing initiative and concern for production deadlines. Sourcing replacement parts where necessary.
Oversee the activities of on-site sub-contractors, ensuring the Companys health & safety procedures and practices are adhered to at all times.
Manage and organise all annual testing associated with the building, internal systems and equipment, this will include but not limited to the following: legionella, LEV, PAT, fire evacuation, CCTV, lifting equipment, calibration and service of fork lift trucks.
Produce monthly reports to senior management, summarising key action points for building maintenance, replacement equipment and factory refurbishment.
Health and Safety procedures and practices
Manage all on site testing, including PAT and LEV


-Experience and knowledge of managing maintenance for a manufacturing facility covering building, machinery and equipment
-Understands applicable facilities legislation and the need to maintain rigorous testing and records
-Experience of leading a multi-skilled maintenance team and implementing maintenance strategies
-A strong understanding of heavy CNC metal cutting machinery
-Ability to deal with conflicting manufacturing requirements speedily, devising repair schedules to resolve machine breakdowns
-Able to adapt to continuously changing priorities in a time-led, production environment
-Excellent people skills with the ability to deal with demanding internal customers
-Relevant experience in a managerial maintenance role covering both electrical and mechanical engineering, ideally apprentice trained
-Agile and able to meet the physical demands of repairing large CNC machinery
-Ideally, suitably qualified in engineering, health & safety and people management.
