About the role

Our client, a subcontract machining company, are looking for an Engineering Buyer to support the daily operations along with performing other administrative functions within the manufacturing facility. Supplying machined components into the Oil and Gas industry, our client have the most up to date CNC technology supported by a wide range of both automated and manual machines and has the production capability and capacity for large, medium and small manufacturing batch quantities, so understanding the products and process technically is vital.

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
-Working directly with current suppliers to subcontract existing and new business
-Find and develop new subcontract suppliers
-Develop and maintain a supplier scorecard system
-Working directly with sales department on new business

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
-Technical knowledge of CNC machining
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
-Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented
-Demonstrate strong organization, planning, prioritizing abilities and attention to detail
-Exhibit strong problem solving and deductive reasoning skills
-Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
-Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
-Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
-Willing to travel to suppliers and other business units

The following skills and qualifications are preferred for this position:
-At least 2 years of experience in purchasing raw material or finished product
-Proven record of supplier development
