About the role


Small but very successful company involved in cutting edge systems for 3D measurement of in-pipeline fluid flow is seeking an additional Embedded Software Engineer to join their research and development department working on next generation systems. We will consider all candidates from graduate level to fully experienced as team fit is as important as experience. However candidates must have a good level of proficiency with the indicated software.

Role and Responsibilities:
Firmware development for systems existing and new FPGA platform
Regular application software updates based on end user feedback
Hardware firmware maintenance for new system functions
Data analysis and performance optimisation for new system functions
Algorithm development for solving complex problems
Writing technical specifications and instructions in collaboration with the Applications engineers
Discussions with end users and participation in site commissioning and end user training

Your Background & Skills
Degree qualified in electrical, instrumentation, chemical or process engineering academic background
Some experience in software development in an industrial environment
Familiar with microprocessor programming (C++, Linux/Python)
Familiar with FPGA programming and implementation
Mathematical grounding and proven ability to write algorithms to solve complex problems
Strong communication skills
Strong work ethic, flexible mind set and independent thinking
A methodical approach to projects with high levels of attention to detail
Able to travel internationally
Looking for a medium/long-term position with progression
Reporting to R&D Manager
