Our client, an electronics manufacturing business, seek to appoint a PCB Test & Repair Technician in Old Malton to inspect and re-work complex PCBs!
This PCB Test & Repair Technician role will suit somebody who has a background in PCB assembly, or through hole/surface mount assembly, and is confident in finding the root cause of faults and then re-working boards to repair them.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
* Test mixed signal design (but mostly digital) PCBs to find root cause of faults
* Repair boards using variety of techniques
* Fault finding can be done with a scope, DVM and test cables, but if other test devices are known this is advantageous
Your Skills and Abilities:
* Strong abilities and experience in PIC based systems / PC
* Familiarity of COMx Express connectivity
* Good familiarity with typical PC busses such as Serial, USB, 10/100/1000 LAN, LVDS video, SATA, PCIe
* Good utilitarian knowledge of Windows i.e. how to set and reallocate serial ports, to run test diagnostics on devices, use apps to send/receive test data on ports, etc.
* Can solder neatly and confidently surface mount components 0603, 0804, SO-8 etc, but large pin count or fine pitch components can be sent out for rework.
