About the role


Our client, a successful and expanding electronics manufacturing business near Wakefield, seek to appoint an Electronics Technician to support their electronics engineering team by assembling circuits, building and modifying prototypes, testing products and evaluating new components. There will be some basic design and modification of circuits as a part of this role. You’ll be joining an established market leader with a talented electronics team to learn from. You’ll need an engineering qualification, experience working for an electronics manufacturer, and good communication skills for a diverse role with frequent engagement with multiple stakeholders. There will not be any travel, this is entirely based on one manufacturing site near Wakefield.

Electronics Technician – Role and Responsibilities – Hardware, Components, Design, Electronics

* Provide technician support for the electronic engineering team, tackling a variety of tasks under engineer supervision
* Assemble and modify printed circuit boards which used mixed SMT and through-hole components
* Conduct performance, thermal and EMC tests on prototypes and finished product, writing detailed test reports
* Evaluate new and alternative electronic components
* Assist with the introduction of new designs into production
* Visit customers to provide on site support as required

Electronics Technician – Skills and Abilities – Hardware, Components, Design, Electronics

* A recognised technological qualification (electrical and electrical engineering preferred)
* Experience working for an electronics manufacturing business in an engineering focused role
* Competent in working with analogue and digital electronics hardware and software
* Ability to understand electronic circuit schematics and the basic function of standard components
* A clear communicator able to multi-task to contribute to a diverse engineering team
* Happy visiting sites with semi-frequent travel
