About the role


Futures Manufacturing are now looking to appoint a Vehicle Integration Technician, but not just any Vehicle Integration Technician an Electrical Vehicle Integration Technician.

Description of role:

The Integration Technician reports into the Electrical supervisor and is responsible for ensuring a successful integration of drive systems into repower and OEM vehicles. This position acts as the main point of contact for the engineering department and assists in the drafting of schematics, installation of wiring systems and fault finding / modification / reworks.
The role requires a versatile person capable of hands on, design and computer software work.

Skills and Experience

Pro-active, innovative with the ability to thrive in challenging environments
Minimum of 2 years experience of Bus and HGV vehicle communication systems
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Ability to draft wiring schematics
Must be hard working, and be able to work under pressure with the ability to manage specific details to tight deadlines

Comfortable in being the single point of ownership for vehicle integration work
Ability to prioritise, organise and liaise between multiple departments
To be an excellent communicator across all levels of the business
To have excellent time management skills and to be organised and able to prioritise
To have excellent Microsoft Office IT skills
CAT C / CAT D licence preferable but not essential

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Designing and drafting schematic drawings for new vehicle type installations.
Identifying areas of improvement and modifying existing schematics.
Designing and documenting harness layouts and measurements
Producing technical write ups when required on system performances and technical processes
Commissioning of vehicles post system installation.

Identifying faults found during commissioning and working solutions.
Clearing of vehicle warning lights and messages resulting from redundant diesel systems.
Working with the Electrical supervisor providing technical support when required
Work with the project management team on all new projects ensuring that the vehicle integration design work is completed and documented in line with project plans
Road testing of vehicles Licence permitting
