We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer for a long-established OEM in Kirklees. We are seeking someone able to undertake Electrical Design for machines, working in a team with Controls and Mechanical Design Engineers. We are seeking either experienced or someone with 12 month’s post grad experience and salary will reflect experience..
Electrical Design Engineer/Machinery/Cabling/Harnesses/Panels/ PLC Interface/AutoCAD/Design Engineer
Duties:
Production of schematics for Control Panel, Circuit Protection, Cabling etc
Correct sizing of cables and any fault calculations necessary.
Work with mechanical and Controls Engineers to establish cable routing , plc interface, microswitch and sensor locations including guard interlocks and emergency stops.
Assist with Factory Acceptance Tests when necessary.
Knowledge and experience:
Educated to minimum ONC in Electrical Engineering
Experience of electrical design on automated and semi-automated machinery
Experience of control panel design.
Able to size cables and design harness/loom
Experience of working in a small multi-skilled team
Able to use 2D design software (AutoCAD
Knowledge of CE marking and machinery directive would be useful
If you happen to have any PLC knowledge great, it’s not a requirement but useful.
