National Account Manager Discounters
This role is focused on the development of existing accounts within the discount sector (Home Bargains, Savers, B&M, Bodycare) and on driving new business within this sector (Aldi, Lidl). This will entail approaching the relevant contacts, securing meetings, showcasing the business’s product offering, and O/L product development capabilities.
The National Account Manager is responsible for proactively engaging with new and existing accounts, ensuring strategic and sustainable growth through data analysis, planning, store visits and sector knowledge in order to recommend sound commercial opportunities for both the business and the retailers.
The National Account Manager sells in NPD concepts and finished examples to buyers with sound well thought through commercials.
Working as part of the Sales team, your responsibilities include:
Adhering to a pre-agreed meetings calendar, ensuring all preparatory documentation is accurate, ensures samples / mockups are available ready for presenting to buyers.
Seeks to pursue those opportunities to fruition in order to achieve sales and profit targets.
Manages requests for gap fill opportunities and sourcing / tender opportunities with the relevant departments in order to offer competitive solutions with a view to permanent listings.
Provides monthly sales figure updates to accounts with relevant commentary relating to monthly / cumulative / annual performance and implements remedial actions if necessary.
Analyses sales data (EPOS / Forecasts / Sales Out) in order to propose the most appropriate product range and Rates of Sale for the respective account(s) based on knowledge of the sector.
Proposes annual over rider terms based on previous actuals achieved, considering growth targets, which results in a mutual agreement for all parties.
Manages all retailer agreed promotional spend with a view to gaining maximum visibility and ROI.
Manages range reviews proposes summer / winter lines (new lines and switch overs) prepares and delivers compelling sell in presentations.
The ideal candidate will have Health & Beauty industry experience AND Discounter experience. We would also consider candidates with personal care / toiletries experience.
