Brunel Academies Trust is a proud, growing educational community with a vision of no barriers, only potential. We strive to significantly improve the life chances and outcomes for our children and young people (CYP), whether they are within our SEND provisions or mainstream schools.
Supported by our fantastic network of likeminded professionals, Local Authority colleagues and parents/carers of our CYP Brunel Academies Trust and its subsidiary organisation, Brunel Education, is a developing Multi Academy Trust (MAT) on a fascinating journey of growth.

We are a 0 25 MAT, with provisions in both the mainstream and the special education sector. Brunel Academies Trust was first established in March 2016 and has undergone steady growth over the past six years. As of September 2022, the organisation includes All Aboard Nursery, BASIS (Brunel Autism Support and Inclusion Services), The Chalet School, Brimble Hill School, Westlea Primary School, Uplands School, Churchward School and Horizons College, an independent 16 25 specialist college.

This is a rare opening for a new Director of Education who will join us at an exciting and crucial time in the Trusts development as we move into a phase of rapid growth across the Swindon region with a focus on developing our Primary education hub. As a growing organisation with ambitious aims, the new Director of Education will need to have a strong background in Primary education, current or recent Ofsted inspection experience and be able to ensure that Brunel Academies Trust/Brunel Education can deliver on its Education Leadership & Curriculum strategy.
The Candidate
Strong personal commitment to the vision, mission and values of Brunel Academies Trust
Demonstrable senior leadership experience and a team player with a track record of delivering impact and results in a senior leadership role in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
Extensive experience of Safeguarding, managing complex projects and demonstrating sound judgement and decision-making
Demonstrate an ability to monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching, learning and
assessment with a demonstrable impact on improving pupils outcomes
Demonstrable current knowledge of Ofsted and Education Inspection Framework (EIF)
Adept at leading or supporting Ofsted inspections at senior level with successful outcomes
Strong flair for people management, with the capacity to inspire committed and experienced employees at varying levels
Proven track record of developing strategic partnerships with commissioners, agencies and providers
A track record of effective financial and resource management
Highly skilled negotiator and influencer with the empathy and ability to tailor communications to specific situations or audiences as necessary
Knowledge and understanding of curriculum intent, implementation and impact so that all Brunel Educational
Understanding of mainstream and SEND educational challenges. Particularly in Primary education, though Secondary would also be advantageous
