About the role


Our client, a long established and successful supplier of building products to the construction sector in West Yorkshire, seek to appoint a Contracts Manager with experience of the UK construction market to plan construction projects from receipt of order to completion on site. It is essential for you to have a background within quantity surveying, to have some knowledge of site work (and have previously visited sites, although this is an entirely office based role) and experience of project management. The appointed Contracts Manager will be commercially minded to ensure bottom line profitability, good at liaising with internal and external design teams, and have a recognised Construction or Engineering qualification. This is a key hire within the business and will allow you to make decisions across the company as a whole.

Contracts Manager – Role and Responsibilities – Construction / Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager

* Contribute information and technical input for inclusion with tender submissions
* Review tender documentation including bill of quantities, architectural files, technical drawings and project specifications
* Establish and review client requirements for project, timing, delivery and installation etc
* Prepare and maintain all relevant contract planning documents
* Liaise with D&D department to schedule detailing requirements, review/amend BIM models and coordinate client approval, amendment and construction issue D&D requests
* Liaise with client teams to schedule delivery and installation

Contracts Manager – Skills and Abilities – Construction / Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager

* A minimum of 5 years contracts management experience (or equivalent construction management position)
* HNC qualification as a minimum in Engineering or Construction field
* Experience of quantity surveying
* Knowledge of project management (Prince2 or equivalent an advantage)
* Good written and oral skills and ability to work closely with other members of teams and clients
