We are currently recruiting for a CAD Technician/Technical Administrator for a small but very busy company in Huddersfield this role could be an ideal stepping stone for a Mechanical Design Graduate or Apprentice-trained person to get into a company and start down the path towards a Design Engineer career.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for reviewing and maintaining archives to identify similar previously supplied solutions, supplying drawings for manufacture of long lead items, and updating designs and Bill of Materials (BOMs) to bring them in line with the companys latest design practice. This role combines 2D and 3D CAD design using Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor combined with Microsoft AX (MRP system for BOMs) and Office skills to have an invaluable impact on the companys output.
Working with a small team of specialist production, purchasing, design and installation engineers to deliver a bespoke product that meets and exceeds the end users expectations. Details on each project will be provided by other team members to you. Once the details are gathered you will be responsible for updating the archive and pulling out key information and ordering long lead items before producing a fully designed system, detailing some new parts, and creating BOMs as required. After the design has been completed you will produce Installation, Operation and Maintenance Manuals for the end client for your designs and others within the department.
Essential Skills:
BEng, HNC or Apprentice Trained
2D and 3D CAD experience (Inventor)
Experience of producing BOMs
Strong attention to detail
Organised and methodical
Enthusiastic and self-motivated
