Our client is a well-established manufacturing business operating in a highly regulated, high tech industry. They wish to appoint a Buyer is to be responsible for the purchasing of electrical and electronic components to design specifications. You don’t need a qualification in electrical engineering, but experience purchasing electrical/electronic components is essential. Working in partnership with current and potential suppliers the appointed Buyer will provide a high standard of quality and service to buy what is needed on time at a great price. This is a days based role with a 1.30pm finish on a Friday, offering good benefits and a great working environment.
Buyer – Role and Responsibilities – Procurement / Purchasing / Supply Chain / Manufacturing / Engineering / Buying / Electrical / Electronic
* Purchase goods, materials, components or services in accordance with specified technical, quality and delivery requirements
* Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers
* Provide procurement support for new designs, and when necessary, participate in bid reviews and evaluations
Buyer – Skills and Abilities – Procurement / Purchasing / Supply Chain / Manufacturing / Engineering / Buying / Mechanical
* A recognised qualification in manufacturing or engineering (beneficial)
* Well established experience in buying / procurement in engineering
* Possess strong knowledge on procuring technical equipment / materials
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
