Manufacturing Futures are looking to recruit a Buyer for a global manufacturing business located in South Yorkshire! The business is highly successful and operates in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal Buyer will be responsible for ensuring material resources are consistent with production schedules whilst managing inventory and suppliers. Other responsibilities include determining material specifications, creating, and maintaining inventory forecasts and schedules, coordinating with internal departments and managing external stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Determine the required materials and generate purchase orders.
• Liaise with the warehouse team to resolve any stock queries
• Ensure materials meet specifications, and quality standards and are cost-efficient.
• Ensure a consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production.
• Schedule and oversee the supply and delivery of materials and products.
• Work with Suppliers to ensure they comply with delivery requirements.
• Work with suppliers to provide future order estimates to ensure a consistent supply of raw materials.
• Following up on expected and overdue deliveries.
• Manage inventory issues, schedule changes and cancellations.
• Maintain accurate costings of raw materials within SAP to ensure data integrity.
• Source new suppliers and materials to efficiently meet production demand.
• Prepare cost estimates, SOH, and performance reports.
• Review existing and Implement new Trading Terms in line with Company expectations.
Your skills:
• Strong Organisational and time management skills
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Background in manufacturing preferred
