About the role

Buyer – Leicester – £45,000 – £55,000 – Hybrid Working

Futures have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Buyer to join a leading, global, billion £ food manufacture who are well-known in the market for their great tasting products!

This company will invest in the development of this role, equipping you with the key skills for the present and ensuring you have a fulfilling, long term career.

As a Buyer you will cover 8 sites covering all Indirect purchases for the business with a £20m – £30m spend.

Key Skills and Responsibilities Include:
– Best practice cost optimisation through negotiating overall best terms
– Strategic planning, budget planning and forecast planning processes – Developing robust, long, medium- and short-term plans and provide the group with an accurate financial forecast to enable successful forecasting
– Working closely with the business procurement managers to execute implementation plans
– Ensure documented and vigorous risk management strategies are in place
– Undertake quality market intelligence gathering to enable group procurement to build a stronger position in negotiations, managing risks and making better informed sourcing decisions in key category areas.
– Managing key relationships with suppliers as well as internal and external stakeholders
– Create an environment to cultivate innovation opportunities from suppliers and engaging with the relevant business procurement managers to achieve “first to market” status

Skills & Experience Required:
– 3-5 years experience working as a Buyer, ideally with experience across Indirects
– Experience within a food, fmcg or manufacturing environment
– Excellent Supplier relationship management skills
– Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to maintain professional relationships.
– Identifies opportunities for improvement and drives them forward
– Able to influence stakeholders at all levels
