We sourced and experienced school improvement advisor to prepare schools for Ofsted.
Several primary schools within a Local Authority were anticipating an Ofsted inspection over the next term, and many of these (good on paper) were very much at risk of falling into the categories of ‘Requires Improvement’ or ‘Special Measures’.
They didn’t have anybody locally to fulfil the duties of an advisor, thus putting the schools at risk.
As we work with many School Improvement advisors, we were able to shortlist a large number of experienced professionals. This gave the authority a wide field of candidates they didn’t have access to before.
This large number of candidates allowed the authority to create a comprehensive shortlist and interview the individuals they felt were the best fit.
The appointment was made for an academic year, and very quickly the advisor addressed issues that would be picked up by Ofsted. These were swiftly dealt with, restoring faith in the school and authority’s ability.
A number of these primary schools were subsequently inspected, and all maintained their ‘Good’ rating. Stability was restored in these schools post-Ofsted, and positive outcomes were ensured for the children.
